Over the coming years, Copenhagen will spend more than 2 billion Euros on adapting the city to future rain and cloudbursts. This is happening in more than 300 large projects, where the focus is to improve liveability and biodiversity in the urban space, while it at the same time that it can transport or store large amounts of water.
The projects are primarily financed by sewer money and are developed in collaboration with the local citizens by a team of engineers and architects.
The plan is to visit the projects below. Along the way, an introduction to Copenhagen's cloudburst plan and the principles for urban development through climate adaptation will be given.
The arrangement is free of charge and the organizers will provide bicycles and a sandwich on the fly.
